In December 2010, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol. I decide to take action. The first thing I needed to do was to take personal responsibility and accountability for what contributed to my disease. This wasn't anyone's fault, there wasn't any blame to be placed on others, no one could make me better except myself. Millions of Americans (like myself) are caught in an obesigenic world that is plagued with fast food options around every corner, poor eating habits, a general lack of activity, high stress environments, insufficient sleep, and a sick-care health system. In this unsupportive environment, it is no wonder that two-thirds of adult Americans are overweight, and the predicted health of future generations is even more uncertain. As your Certified Health Coach, I am a free resource that will guide you through the program and provide on-going personal coaching. As a former athlete, I know the importance of maintaining good health and wellness. It's not an easy journey back to Optimal Health; but it's a path that I must take for myself and for my children.
